Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) develops when repetitive motions create microtears in your forearm’s extensor tendons, leading to inflammation and sharp pain during gripping actions. 🤕👊

In Chinese medicine diagnosis, we begin by assessing the condition’s severity through careful palpation of two key areas:

1️⃣ The lateral epicondyle’s outer ridge

2️⃣ The extensor muscle group to evaluate tension levels

We classify tennis elbow (known as ‘elbow fatigue’ in TCM) into three distinct patterns:

1) Qi-Blood Stagnation: Sharp, localized stabbing pain 🔪

2) Qi Deficiency: Dull aching with noticeable weakness 😣

3) Damp-Heat Accumulation: Warmth, swelling, and inflammation 🔥

Treatment Strategy:

• Local Ashi Points: Precise needling around the lateral epicondyle releases tension in damaged tendons 💉

• Distal Points: Strategic points along the arm muscles relieve tightness and restore meridian flow 🌊

Therapeutic Effects:

✔️ Reduces inflammatory markers

✔️ Stimulates tendon repair through enhanced circulation ❤️🩹

✔️ Rebalances muscle tension patterns ⚖️

Optimal Recovery Protocol:

• 4-6 weeks of treatment (6-8 sessions) combined with:

• Progressive tendon-loading exercises (guided by your physiotherapist) 🏋️‍♀️
