Herbal prescriptions
Novena is a general practice Chinese Medicine Practitioner whose area of practice includes internal medicine, gynecology, pediatrics, dermatology, orthopedics, and miscellaneous diseases. When Novena gives a diagnosis and writes a herbal medicine prescription for treatment, she treats the entire human body as an entity. Her treatment addresses the entire medical disease or condition, instead of each individual symptom. For example for a fever resulting from the flu, Novena may issue a prescription that uses the sweating technique to eliminate wind and cold pathogens in the body, instead of giving out medicine that merely suppresses the symptom of fever.
Herbal dispensing, Prescription boiling, Powder granules, Herbal cream
Novena’s clinic cooperates with a herbal medicine central dispensary that provides GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) licensed low-sulfur herbal medicine, with rigorous drug safety testing and quality control, to ensure the quality of herbs provided.
At Novena’s clinic, patients can opt for herbal dispensing, prescription boiling, powder granules, and home delivery service. Prescription boiling refers to having the herbal prescription dispensed and then pre-boiled at the dispensary and packaged into food-safe plastics. Upon receiving the pre-boiled medicine, patients can just warm and drink the herbal medicine. Powder granules is another method for easy consumption, the dispensed herbs are made into powder at the dispensary, patients only need to dissolve it in warm water for drinking. Novena also prescribes herbal medicine topical creams, which is often used for treating dermatological conditions. Novena arranges for delivery service to deliver the herbal prescriptions to the patient's home.
